Join the Friends of Shoal Harbour (FOSH) on July 27th for an informative and exciting 90 minute tour of Tsehum Harbour, Roberts Bay and the surrounding waters of the migratory bird sanctuary!
During the cruise, one can expect to see a variety of migratory birds, both on the water and along the shore; as well as other ocean-related wildlife.
The Shoal Harbour Migratory Bird Sanctuary (SHMBS) was established in 1931 to protect geese, ducks and other birds of the region and irreplaceable habitat they need. Yet, the sanctuary faces many critical challenges: landscape and shoreline deterioration, abandoned vessels and water quality issues.
The cruise runs from 1:00 – 2:30pm on July 27th.
The cost is $45 per person, or $35 each for a group of four.
Meet at Dock E in Canoe Cove Marina on the north part of the Saanich Peninsula.
The enclosed vessel has a capacity of 12 guaranteeing a small group experience.
By providing these tours the Friends of Shoal Harbour seek to build a community of supporters that will assist in the on-going protection and management of the migratory bird sanctuary.
